Education Importance

One of the more significant areas of focus for the Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA) will be in the area of governmental lobbying. A daunting task to say the least, but the snow industry needs a voice in the various areas of government so as to affect change to some of the more egregious laws out there that create considerable heartburn for all in the snow contracting business.

Another area of supreme importance is education. I’m not talking about education on how to provide the cheapest price to a prospective client (you all know how I hate the word “bid” as it pertains to the snow industry), or how to push snow to the other side of a parking lot (although those are important). I’m talking about how to protect ones business from the pitfalls associated with providing this type of service; how to operate the back-end systems to keep accurate records of what happens on any given site; how to operate a high level business generating millions in revenues; best accounting practices so management can properly evaluate whether or not to buy or lease a facility; and how to keep customers and employees alike safe in difficult conditions.

These are just two of the areas that ASCA believes to be important and overlooked areas that snow contractors need to be made aware of and served in terms of what’s best for all.
